Please chance me for regular decision!URGENT

I love Wesleyan, it's my dream school... but I know that it will be a definite reach for me.
Fast response is appreciated because i need to get my records request forms in ASAP!
The other reaches I am applying to are Bard and Skidmore.

My GPA is 7.4 currently, weighted, on the 10.0 scale. The lowest accepted GPA on my Naviance graph was about 7.9. I had some trouble sophomore year which accounts for the relatively low G.P.A. My grades in grade 10 are B.A.D... I had a lot of trouble in math because of a bad Regents score.

After Sophomore year I moved from New York to an affluent public school in MA. Since I have moved my grades have improved significantly.

I've taken AP World History, AP US History, and AP Psychology

I only have 2 years of a high school language, Latin

My highest SAT scores are:
CR: 690
Math: 610
Writing: 700
Essay: 11
Total: 2000

I have lots of extra-curriculars:
9: Advocates for the Earth, Latin Club
10: Youth & Government (nom. for best bill), Latin Club VP, Italian Club
11: Film Apprenticeship, Art, Tutors in Action, Arts Magazine
12. Tutors in Action, Art, Arts Magazine, Lead role in the Play
Work Experience: Head volunteer at vet's office, volunteer job at children's camp, activities assistant at a nursing home (arts), pharmacy job

Good recs (might be getting 2nd from another english teacher... is it ok to have 2 recs from teachers in the same department?)
Good essay! About moving to a new school and gaining confidence through new experiences

be brutally honest, up until this point i wasn't even going to apply

wesleyan wants one english/history & one math/science teacher recommendations.

@ colornightmares: I agree that it’s a good idea to get that combination, but please provide a cite to some source that shows that "wesleyan wants one english/history & one math/science teacher recommendations." I don’t see that on Wesleyan’s web site (which says applicants should follow the Common App) and I don’t see that on the Common App web site. I only see that Wesleyan requires two recommendations and that Wesleyan will accept up to four recommendations.

Here is the Application Checklist taken from Wes’s website–you need one rec from a Humantities/Social Science teacher and one from a Math/Science teacher. My son who was just accepted ED had three recs, from his English, Math and Theatre teachers. Good luck to you! http://www.wesleyan.edu/admission/applying/app_timeline_checklist.pdf

OIC. Thanks!

I’ll be brutally honest since you asked.
It’s a (very) high reach for you.
But… it’s not impossible and since it’s your “dream school” you certainly should apply.
(but why didn’t you apply ED?)

“wesleyan wants one english/history & one math/science teacher recommendations.”

i had an english teacher and a spanish teacher, and i got in. it’s recommended, not mandated.
