I am currently a freshman nursing student! I had similar stats to you:
[I applied for Early Action in October and was officially wait listed on January 31, 2015.
My stats: 3.9 GPA unweighted, 4.0 GPA weighted
All Honors/AP classes. Mid year report completed averaging around a 85-100 in each class.
27 ACT, BUNCH of extracurricular: National Honor Society, President of Medical Awareness Club, VP of Environmental club, Key club, concert choir, madrigals, past model un and fbla member. Working part time, parents make up to $60000 a year only. I thought my essay was great. I am dedicated to going into the nursing field. If not, then i dont what to do with my life honestly.] - My post last year.
With those stats, you will most likely get wait-listed, BUT DON’T FEEL DOWN! If you get wait-listed, IMMEDIATELY EMAIL THE NEWARK ADMISSIONS OFFICE (Email Newark, because they are in charge of the nursing applications. Here in NB, all the nursing students are known as “Newark students studying in New Brunswick”) with a heartfelt email about why you want to do nursing and that you are capable although your stats don’t look a impressive as other. After doing that, they accepted me after 3 days. I was lucky, many others were unlucky and never accepted.
But also know that the program gets bigger and bigger every year. My class of 2019 has approximately 60-70 in New Brunswick.
GOOD LUCK! I BELIEVE IN YOU!
