What are my chances?
Weighted GPA: 3.9, UW GPA: 3.4, SATs: 1160, Major: UNDECLARED, and I live in SOCAL.
I’m stressing out a lot. My cal state gpa on the application said 3.4, but I put in honors and APs. Is that incorrect or…? Do they take APs and Honors into account?
I already got rejected from UCSC, UCSD, CSULB, but accepted to CSUF and HUMBOLDT STATE. Someone please reply. My anxiety is through the roof!
Hello! Fellow applicant here
I have a UW 3.2 GPA and W 3.7 and I also live in Socal! I applied for the nursing/bio major for UCI and SDSU and was accepted into both. So in terms of GPA, you should be fine (although for UCI maybe sort of a reach if you went undeclared).
Of course there’s always the factor of extracurriculars and work experience. In case you wanted a scale, I worked at an animal shelter for around 3 years and started a job as a receptionist for a doctor in the beginning of senior year. I also did community service quite a lot (500+ hours) and did receive around 10 total awards for piano competitions, volunteer services, violin competitions, and dance competitions.
for Cal State applications, they only look at UW GPA but will factor in the weighted if they’re on the fence about your acceptance. Whether they do that or not, the amount of AP and Honor classes still do have an impact, as it shows how you did in harder classes.
Good luck!
I was accepted into both SDSU and UCR.
My unweighted GPA is a 3.8, I got SAT 1180 and ACT 28. I declared biochemistry for both.
I think you have pretty fair chances for both! Can’t say for UCI since I am waiting for that too. I had a few extra curricular activities… not much. No work experience. So if you have lots of extra activities, you have a good chance.
As for your other schools you applied to, I was rejected to UCSD and waitlisted for UCSC.
I wish you luck!
