<p>I am currently a senior and I'm planing on applying to Stanford, University of Pennsylvania (Wharton school of Business), Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, Berkeley, UCLA, and probably UCSB and UCSD as backups.</p>

I go to a decent public school in a small ranching community in rural California... not sure if this will hurt me or help me

<p>I also come from a really small town and close nit ranching community with only 700 kids at my school... not sure if this will help me or hurt me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.</p>
<p>Also, do you recommend that I even put the sports if I took a year off in the middle or do not play the sport competitively anymore.</p>
