Please Chance Me For Stanford, UPenn, Harvard, Etc. — I Chance Back!

Okay, so I made a thread on this two days ago, but I have added some additional info here. Please chance me, I am really freaking out about this and I chance back!

The schools I want to be chanced for: Stanford (EA), UPenn (Wharton), Harvard, UC Berkeley, NYU, and Emory

SAT Subject Level II Math: 760
Physics: 760

Currently taking AP Physics C, Calc BC, Gov., Physiology

GPA Sophomore year: 3.83 (my company was taking up a lot of my time)
Junior year: 4.5

Rigor of curriculum
Sophomore year: 2 honors, 2 AP's
Junior year: 2 honors, 3 AP's (4 if you include Micro/Macro econ as 2)
Senior year: 5 AP's

President of Investment Club where we manage a $10k+ stock portfolio. In National Honor Society, Beta Club, and History Honors Society.

Track 4 years, Varsity past 3 years
150 Hours of community service
Eagle scout
Started an iPhone app development company
-Self taught myself object oriented programming
-Apps have 4M+ downloads to date
-Revenue peaked at $4k+ a DAY
-Had two full time employees at one time
-One app was featured in the New York Times
-I was on the front page of the local newspaper and have been on numerous sites such as Yahoo News and a number of smaller sites

I will be getting a recommendation from a friend of mine who has brought 4 companies from idea to $100+ in annual revenue. He is a Harvard alum.

The bottom sentence should say $100M+ in revenue, not $100+ in revenue… whoops!

10charbump

bumpity bump bump

3.83 (my company was taking up a lot of my time)

^That is not a good excuse. I’m just being honest. At the schools you want to go to, there will be more students like you (students that have started businesses), so to say that your company was taking up a lot of time is not the best way to go about it.

What is your cumulative GPA?

I’m not sure about my cumulative GPA off the bat, but I know that schools such as Stanford don’t even look at your freshman grades. So far, all A’s this year. I also go to a fairly competitive private school that sends a handful of people out of its class of 100 to ivy leagues and other top 30 schools each year.

I think the company will be a boost for you since it’s different from what most people do. And everything else looks good too.

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1217990-am-i-right-track-will-chance-back.html#post13261126

Okay ^ is definitely just jealous because you have good stuff!

Who??? Me? o.O

Why would I be jealous? I’m not applying to college.
And I know someone who had a company and had grades that were a little lower than the college usually accepts, and he got rejected from a lot of his top schools.

Anyone else?

10charbump (again, ugh)

So you’re making ~1.2M a year?

^ No, nowhere near that… The revenue peaked at a little over $4k a day. This period of high growth only lasted about a month. Also, revenue does not equal profit.

ahhh, no new chances yet today. I chance back!!! :D

Still, if you’re making six figures revenue and at least five figures profit, that is very good and will probably get you into most schools if you emphasize the business experience in your essays.

Your app has grossed a minimum of about 4M dollars not including Apple commission fees if it was priced at $.99 per download. Impressive.

The fact that you have your own iPhone development company is very good. I think you got a good shot at all the colleges, but we’ll never be certain since the top colleges are very picky.

Chance back

NYU and Emory are matches. UC-Berkeley is the lowest reach. In terms of the rest, you have just a good chance as the rest.
