I sort of copied this format from some thread I saw hehe. Anyways, any input would be very much appreciated. Btw, I am a junior.

Great thread title @motherpugger!

Fully qualified applicants such as yourself stand a very good chance at many colleges, including those as highly selective as Colgate. For this reason, I’d be surprised if you weren’t accepted.

@merc81 ohoho thank you! I really liked it there. Surprising how much a university can just ‘click’.

You might want to consider applying ED, but agree with @merc81 that you look good for Colgate

@wisteria100 Why do you think I should do ED? Does it seem like I don’t have a good chance regular decision? I would still consider doing early decision because it is now my first choice, but I need to consider financial aid.

Also thanks for your input!

I think you have a good chance at RD, but an excellent chance at ED, because the admit rate at ED is so much higher at Colgate. So if it is truly your first choice it would make sense, but only if you don’t need to compare financial aid packages.

Anyone else? Please help out

if it is really your first choice, make sure to go to ed. rd has much lower chance of entry.

Run the Net Price Calculator on their website to get a sense of what they would expect you to pay. If it’s in your ballpark, apply ED; if not, go RD.

For the class of 2020, Colgate’s ED acceptance rate was 50%, vs 26% RD (this year’s stats are not out yet). So yes, your chance of getting in ED is much better than RD.

@moneyp @mjrube94 Thank you! I’ll fill that out when my parents are here because I don’t know several of those financial questions. Do you think that I am competitive for Colgate? Just curious.
