Please chance me, do I have a chance for these schools? (Possibly full scholarships or something?) Should I retake the Subject tests (Oct 6.) or if I write stellar essays/interview, will I be okay? Thanks!

No, you won’t be getting any full scholarships (although you may receive some smaller ones at emory) You have a strong enough applications to be competitive though - those schools are basically toss ups except for Emory (probably will get in) and Vanderbilt (higher chance). Good luck to you

Bump…

I suggest cutting the following things from your list (sorry it is a pet-peeve of mine when people have length/unnecessarily long lists).
Top 3 GPA (9, 10, 11) - Implied by your GPA, unnecessary
Leadership Forum on Medicine (NYLF/MED) by nomination (10) - I don’t know about at your school but at my school it is very easy to get nominated
Also your clubs list is sort of absurdly long, you should remove a club or two where you did not hold any leadership positions

Anyway, I think you have a decent shot at the schools on your list. Obviously they are sort of hard to predicate, but you are defiantly a strong applicant.

Bump! I appreciate any info! =)

You definitely are a strong applicant for all of these schools.

Not gonna lie, your SAT II’s will not help you, but I think that they will not break anything either. Many schools require them to see if you are a well rounded student but are not used as a marker as much as the regular SAT or ACT.

Also, the people-to-people and those types of leadership things (anything that you had to pay for) do not add anything at all to your transcript. No one cares that you went on a people-to-people thing, because most likely it came our of your pocket and soooo many kids are nominated across the country.

I think that you should try and show one area that you are really focused in. You seem to do A LOT of clubs which is great, but are there any that you are really passionate about?

Sorry this is so long! In all, I think that you have a good chance at all of your schools but like everyone else, its a crapshoot.

You should take the SAT IIs if you can, or maybe even retake the SAT. Also consider applying ED to one of the schools. Nice ECs and awards. Try to remove the ones that you only did for a year though, and focus on the activities where you had the most commitment.

Just make sure you have other safety schools since a lot of the schools you listed sometimes give arbitrary decisions. In any case:

Low reach: Emory, Vanderbilt
medium reach: John Hopkins, Duke
high reach: Harvard, Princeton

Good luck! Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1393360-some-chances-please-i-chance-back.html</a></p>

Thank you for the info guys, much appreciated. I am applying Restrictive EA to Harvard, probably not ED to any schools (too risky, if I don’t get any financial aid). I am better at the ACT so I will probably stick with that. I am also applying to state schools such as the University of Alabama (Roll Tide) and UAB. I am thinking about majoring in Biochemistry (going to med school later), will that affect the applications process at all, considering that I’m not sending in a science subject test? I am very passionate about Key Club (supplement essay to Harvard). Should I try to focus on anything else? Thanks.

Bumpppppp…please

Yes, you may want to retake the SAT II’s in October- Biology at least and aim for a solid 700+ and maybe add chemistry too if you’re comfortable with chem, but bio would really be enough.

Update here with your ACT score when you get it

yeah your a good candidate. nice ECs, good involvemnet in a bunch of stuff. if you get 34 on ACT submit that… harvard/princeton is a crapshoot anyways, but good for reach school.

guys chance me?? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1393582-chance-me-i-kno-its-annoying-but-i-would-really-help.html</a></p>
