Hi!
I have been at community college for 2 years, and am hoping to transfer to CSU Fullerton for Fall 2015. I am local.
I have an AA Degree in Health Sciences from my community college, & I already have my certificate of completion for all of the GEs at Fullerton. So I would be entering into my jr. year, with no GEs left to do except the 9 upper-level ones that are required to be completed at the CSU.
I have completed the "Golden 4" with straight A's.
I have applied into their Child & Adolescent Development major (not impacted, yay!) for Elementary school teaching. :)
My GPA is currently 3.4, but I am currently taking classes that transfer over for credit in my major, so I will be earning more credit and boosting my GPA at the same time this semester. I can get it up to a 3.5.
I have a ton of AP & IB credit, as well as the full transfer certification.

What are my chances at getting accepted?

Thanks! :)

It looks like you have a good chance of being accepted. You still need a backup plan.

Definitely apply to other local schools. Why not CSULA? There aren’t a ton of differences between CSUs.

My job, and my fiance’s job, are here. I was hoping to stay very local (hence CSUF) so that we don’t both have to relocate jobs and apartments, as I need to work throughout college. I was planning on applying to CSULB and commute but I was not impressed with their program for Elementary school teachers.
Any local recommendations?

Are my chances not high at Fullerton, ‘DickCheney’?

It’s always good to apply to multiple schools-Just in case.

You have a good chance at CSUF…

Where did you see that your major wasn’t impacted? According to everything I’ve read so far, the entire campus and all its majors are impacted.

Regardless, I would say you have a pretty good shot of being accepted, especially since you are transferring from a local community college.
