Please chance me for UC Berkeley?

Do I have a fairly good chance in getting in?
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: Asian
Residency: Washington

Unweighted GPA – 3.83 GPA (it’s pretty bad, I know. I don’t really have a good explanation for it besides I underestimated how much work I would actually have in Junior year)

Weighted GPA – 4.291 GPA (At a disadvantage here since I’ve been taking 7 classes a year since freshman year opposed to the normal 6, and we aren’t allowed to take AP classes until Junior Year. I’ve been trying to make up for it since.)

UC GPA – 4.11 GPA

Class Rank: 27/412. Additionally, my class rank is based on an unweighted GPA scale, and I also share my class rank with four other people. So I don’t think it’s an accurate measure of academic prowess…
AP Courses:
• AP Calculus AB (expecting a 5),

I'm considering self-studying AP Chemistry since I've been told having all three sciences is practically a requirement, but I'm not sure if I'll have the time, in light of everything else. It's also not offered at my school, so I have no choice but to self-study it.
Also, perhaps AP Music Theory from interest.

SAT II: US History - 790, Math II - 800, Physics - 780. Potentially planning on taking the test for Biology and Chemistry.

Letters of Recommendation: Amazing, thankfully.

Yup you have absolutely no chance of getting in Berkeley. I hear McDonalds are hiring though.

Okay. just joking… you are around 95% chance in…

OP must be joking…do you want to hear yourself praised or is that a real question? 0__0

depends on which major you applied to?

“Having all three sciences is practically a requirement.”

Umm… no it isn’t.

I’d say you are as close to as a lock to get in even with the hard (amazingly hard) admittance rate. By the way, when you said your GPA’s were low, I was looking at them and wishing they were my grades. Do you have any reaches or safeties?

You are overestimating how hard it is to get in to Berkeley or you are just taking a chance to brag. Your 2300 on the SAT prevent you from getting in. You’ll probably have to settle for a community college if you can’t land a 2490 at the bare minimum.

99% in, since you’re paying OOS I hope you applied to privates too.

haha huehuehue32, I think he is the latter case.

Nope, Another Fake! The little things gave you away.

@sosomenza
I see you call everyone’s threads fake, so I’m not taking you seriously…

@Everyone else
I didn’t realize I was overqualified. No one in my school has gone to UC Berkeley so I have really no idea how hard it is to get in.
I had the impression that it was really hard to get in since it’s something like the #1 public university.

I was planning on applying to Stanford next year, but I have been told it is a very high reach for me so I am not sure. I have a number of safeties, so no worries.
I’m also interested in applying to Penn, Brown and John Hopkins.

Forgot to add; I had TONs of B’s in my junior year 1st semester…
(B in Honors Chem, B+ in APUSH, B+ in APLAC)

op, stanford and berkeley are not in the same tier. (stanford: harvard of the west)

here my prediction:
stanford: high reach
UPenn: high reach
brown: high reach
berkeley: match (being out of state helps)
JH: low reach

^agree with unclaimedpants

Depends on the school. UPenn Wharton is notoriously hard(probably only second to Harvard in toughness).
