California resident.</p>
<p>Cummulative GPA: 3.51 (weighted and unweighted--never took any AP classes until this year)
SAT: 1840 (Writing: 660, Math: 620, Reading: 560)
Class Rank: 179 of 616 in a very competitive high school</p>
<p>My transcript shows a rapid incline in GPA, then a slight dip last year...
Freshman: 3.45, 2.60
Sophomore: 3.50, 4.00
Junior: 3.83, 3.29</p>
<p>My Senior year schedule includes AP Literature and AP Biology.</p>
<p>ECs: Marching band, symphonic band, and drumline for 2 years with leadership positions (bass drum captain). Journalism for 2 years with an Editor position. Founder and President of Smash Club (playing Super Smash Brothers at lunch, coordinating events and tournaments (lol)) Hospital volunteer for a year with ~100 hours. </p>
<p>So that's where I'm at right now. Santa Cruz is the only UC I'm applying to and it's essentially my dream school. I know my ECs aren't spectacular, nor is my GPA...
I'm applying to other state schools too which I know I could get into, but a UCSC acceptance is what I care about most. </p>
