Chapel Hill is my dream school as I have so much passion for education. I want to major in Biology and double minor in Environmental Science and Journalism. My friends tell me I have nothing to worry about, but I would like some outside perspective. Please be honest!

I think your chances are pretty good especially considering you are in state. I think your only problem could be your SAT score, but as you said you are retaking. I wouldn’t worry too much if I were you. You have done everything you can and any college will be lucky to have you. There is no need in worrying about something you can’t do anything about. That said, I still think you have a good chance but you never know with college admissions, they can be all over the place

if you take the sat again and get a similar or worse score maybe try the act and see how you do no that one, but like the other person said your main problem is your standardized testing scores, other than that everything else is on par or above with the average unc applicant

@xSucksToSuckx I’ve taken the ACT once and got a 24, which doesn’t reflect my intelligence at all, so I think I have a better chance of raising my SAT score to something more Chapel Hill appropriate than my ACT. Thank you so much though!

If you get your SAT score up I think that you will easily get in. The in-state acceptance rate is 50% EA. Try to raise it to a 2000+ and make sure that you study with the blue book. Also, Erica Meltzer’s sat grammar guide is amazing for the writing section and brought me up 100 points. Chance me back for Chapel Hill?
