Please Chance Me for Union College and UAlbany

<p>Hi. If you could, please chance me for Union College in Schenectady NY. It's a liberal arts school and only accepts around 560 freshman a year. I applied Early Decision. I would also like to be chanced for UAlbany. It's a SUNY school in Albany NY. I applied early action. I am waiting to hear from both schools but I would like to be chanced in the meantime.</p>

<p>Status: High School Senior
SAT: 1020 (Did not submit to Union, it was optional).
GPA: 90 or 3.7
Top Quarter of My Class</p>

<p>Volunteer Work/Clubs and Activities:</p>

<p>*Volunteer Firefighter for over a year. Heavily involved. Fire and medical duties.
*Volunteered for 3 years at local Animal Shelter until program was cut :(
*Volunteered at City Mission for past year.
*Active member of FBLA/DECA and Spanish Club
*Worked for the past few summers mowing and doing yard work for local regular customers.
*Various other volunteer activities through school like helping at a homework club with elementary students and working at school fundraising events.</p>

<p>Recommendations:</p>

<p>*2 Great Teacher Recommendations
*Excellent Letter from Fire House Chief
*Letter from a local man I have worked for for a few years (mowing, yard work, etc.). He worked at Union for 30 years and was at one point the Registrar Emeritus. He included this information at the bottom of his letter.</p>

<p>Other Information:</p>

<p>*I had an excellent interview at Union that lasted over an hour. After the interview, the interviewer called, emailed, and sent a postcard. Each expressed what a pleasure it was meeting with me and he also stated that he was looking forward to seeing me at Union.
*I was already accepted to Utica College.</p>

<p>A 1020 on the first two sections. I got a 500 on Critical Reading, a 520 on Math, and a 550 on writing. </p>

<p>I also forgot to mention that I am a member of National Business Honor Society and that I had a great essay about how I have learned some important life lessons in unusual places.</p>

<p>I think you’ve got a good shot at Albany! Your SAT is on the low side, and their GPA stats are “core” subjects…so you appear to be OK.</p>
