your GPA looks a little low especially if that’s weighted, but everything else looks great. I’d say wherever you decide to boost your app and apply ED is a low reach, and everywhere else would be a reach.

chance back?

Good EC’s, low academics for target schools. At most you’d get into one or two of the schools you listed.

UChicago has Early Action, not early decision

Thanks Kash… I know, it was a mistake on my part! Thanks guys!

With your numbers and ECs every school on your list is a reach. Penn, Brown, Columbia and Dartmouth are significant reaches.

Thanks for the feedback! I have legacy (grandfather) who attended Penn and it is my early decision school, does this make me more competitive, I’m expecting my GPA to increase as well… it is currently a 95.5

Remember that Chicago wants to see excellent writing ability, so put plenty of effort into your essays.

So do you guys think the gpa is the real killer? I have a significant upward trend in my gpa as well.

Do well in Intel STS and you’ve got a good shot. Otherwise the GPA is gonna hurt

thanks again! question on gpa: will a 95.5 be considered a 4.0?

What will matter most is where you rank, even if your school does not rank they give grade distribution data. If you’re in the top few percent you have a real shot!

by the way, my school is very competitive and sends around 20 kids to ivies every year, and more than that to top schools

Test scores are okay, GPA is a little low (unless your school is super competitive, which you said it is so ne’ermind), your ECs are great except they lack… focus. Like, your an athlete slash actor slash reader slash scientist slash singer slash future politician. Too much breadth, but a lot of depth. I think it’s a reach overall. Good luck though :)

how did siemens go for you MJG678? But I think with a legacy and ED to penn you should be all set…they love their legacies I’ve heard

Yeah the legacy will help a lot for penn

GPA and projected SAT are a shade lower than average for those places, so I’m going to have to say a reach for most of them.

UChicago has a pretty high admit rate, so I think you’ll get in there-- legacy should help UPenn as well.
