Hi, I was just wondering if I could get into the college of arts and sciences at Upenn. I applied early and am a legacy there because my dad went to Wharton for graduate school. Also, I recently had my interview and I thought it went very well. Here are my credentials.

Community Service: I've done this through NHS, Boyscouts, and volunteer work as a TA at my synagogue.

Thank you so much if you managed to read all that I wrote. Also, if you guys have any idea what are my chances for Northwestern (legacy), UChicago (EA), Wash U, Cornell, Columbia, and Berkley

What is your weighted GPA? Are you a recruited rowing athlete?

No, I’m not a recruited athlete and my school does not weight GPAs.

I heard Ivy Leagues give legacy a LOT of weight! With the legacy, ED, and a less-competitive-than-Wharton school choice, I’d say you have a very strong chance of getting in. Your course load is pretty challenging (especially this year!), and the rowing extracurricular is very compelling. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR APPS!

My predictions:
Northwestern: Accepted
UChicago: Waitlisted
Wash U: Unsure; I don’t know much about this school
Cornell: Waitlisted
Columbia: Waitlisted
Berkeley: Accepted

Please please please chance me back! <3

I think you can get into Northwestern, Wash U, and Berkeley. I don’t know too much about the ivies

You have good stats. With Cornell/UChicago it’ll depend a lot on your essays i think but you have a shot
Northwestern: low reach
UChicago (EA): reach
Wash U: high match
Cornell: low reach
Columbia: reach
Berkley: high match

I think you have a good shot at Penn, considering you’re legacy and your stats are pretty solid. Thanks for the chance back!

Grad school doesn’t count as legacy. Your SATs are a bit below the average at these schools and your ECs are not really outstanding.

Penn reach
Northwestern (legacy) low reach
UChicago (EA) reach
Wash U low reach
Cornell reach
Columbia reach
Berkeley low reach

Grad school legacy actually does count at Penn. My dad asked this question at his last Penn reunion and the staff at Penn said they treat legacys of graduate and undergraduate schools equally. Additionally, I know my SATs are below average, however my ACT is above average. Do you still think this makes my SATs such a negative?

i am also a legacy at penn applying ed, but i’m a double. honestly, i think you have a really good chance of getting into penn. i got a letter today saying that like 50% of legacies get in, and i’ve seen in posts on here that people with scores as low as 1700 have gotten in. i know nothing i say is going to alleviate the awful stress we’re going through right now, but i think you are going to be okay(:
