Please chance me for upenn

Hi, I am a junior in a Florida high school, and my dream is to attend wharton undergrad. I would really appreciate it if someone gave me some feedback as to my application.

ACT: I haven't taken, but I have taken 3 timed practice tests at a private tutor along with other kids and scored 2 35's and a 36.
SAT II: Math II 770 US History 780
GPA Unweighted: 3.84
GPA Weighted: 4.78
Rank: 8/529 (Went from 126 at the end of freshman year to 8 this year due to all A's and A LOT of college classes)
- In freshman year I really overestimated myself and only got 1 A in academic classes and the rest b's (I will definetely adress this in the optional). If I got A's in my freshman classes I would be valedictorian, but unfortunately I messed up.

AP: 3: Human Geography and World History
As I stated before, I was not serious about my freshman classes, and I believe that I will definitely get much better AP scores
This year I will be taking AP Tests for: Lang/Comp, Psychology, US History, Statistics, Micro Economics, and Environmental Science
I have also taken 12 dual enrollment classes that are not bs classes, examples include business law 1 and 2, speech and communication, physics, anat/phys, anthropology, etc.
Senior Year Course Load: All Ap's - Biology, Lit, Euro, Gov, Macro, Calculus AB, Spanish Lang

Awards: Presidents Honor Roll, AP Scholar, Commended at county school district for holocaust awareness

EC:
I will hopefully be the Treasurer of the Florida District of Key Club (State Position)
- I was treasurer of my club and will be campaigning this year, I think I can win. Also set up 5k run and raised thousands for a charity.
Started a DECA chapter at my school in order to allow kids in the Information Technology Academy (which is a magnet academy registered in the state of Florida) to experience business, management, and entrepreneurship first hand.
Co-Founder of the Holocaust Remembrance Club: (Secretary 2 years, President 1 year) Every year, due to the large amount of holocaust survivors living in south florida, we host an amazing end-of-year event where kids from our school who apply to go to the event, are able to sit 5 kids to 1 survivor, hear their amazing stories, and ask questions first hand. It really is amazing and I am so grateful to have had this opportunity. We also have fundraised money for local holocaust museums.
MUN- Will be president next year and will attend the Penn conference in the coming few weeks and I will hopefully place in my category, I am very excited.
Debate- 1 Placing and have help to set up 3 competitions (Student Congress Cptn 1 year and Treasurer 1 year)
NHS-member, might not even put on app

Lots of volunteering at animal shelter and through key club
Race: White
Gender: Male
School: Large Public- sends 1 to 2 to ivies

I WILL APPLY ED and I think my essays and recs will be outstanding. PLEASE CHANCE THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I also have a 15 hour/week job

The best sense you can get is to look at the ED decision thread. You’ll be able to see who got in and who didn’t. If you wind up with a 35-36 on ACT you’ve got as good a chance as anybody.

Thanks I really appreciate it!

In my opinion wharton will be a low reach for you as of now because of your unweighted gpa. You need to boost that up a little more. However, the rigor is definitely there. Your EC’s seem solid and SAT II’s good as well. A 35 or 36 on the ACT will definitely increase your chances. However, two kids from my school did not get into wharton with a 36. But overall, you will have a decent shot.

Thank you for the feedback and for being honest!

bumpbumpbump

I think you have an excellent chance, your extracurriculars and awards are really impressive.

Wow thanks so great to hear something like that :D

bumppppppppp

bump10char

Have you bothered to look at the ED decisions thread??? It will give you the answers you are looking for.

Ive looked at a lot of the ed threads, but I feel like theres not many applicants to wharton that have a slightly sub par unweighted, but pretty solid ec’s. I just want a feel as to if the rest of my app can make up for the sub par grades AND if the stron upward trend in rank and gpa can help my chances.

These chance threads are no where near as good as looking at actual decisions data. If you get the 35-36 on ACT you are a strong candidate. The decisions thread shows everbody that with holistic decision making it’s all a crapshoot.

bumppppppppp

Awsome jump!!

Really cool dude

Thanks, do you think that is looked upon highly in the admissions office?

Please stop with the bump.
