That was last semester. This sem I'm in Euro, AP Am Lit, honors French, honors physics, honors pre-calc, and drawing- I will probably end up with all As, at worst I'll get 2 Bs.

Senior year:
AP Biology, honors French, AP Psych, AP Calc AB, AP College English, and an elective.

Extracurriculars/Leadership:
1. Varsity cross-country- captain senior year. I plan on competing at the NCAA level but I'm not good enough for it to help me in admissions.
2. Varsity track and field- distance runner, possible captain senior year. Same as above. xc and track are huge year-round commitments for me and are really important in my life.
3. Service club- member sophomore, junior, senior years; club engaged in volunteering locally. Really community oriented.
4. Athletic council- basically a leadership club for athletes, I will be a member senior year because captains are required to attend.
5. Students for Barack Obama- Sophomore year during the election season I was a co-founder and co-captain of my school's chapter. This was pretty time consuming for a year or so.
Also. I plan on volunteering at my local animal shelter a lot this summer.

Awards:
National Merit Commended

What are my chances at...
USC
UCLA
CMC
Pomona

Colorado College

Or what are any nice California schools I didn't mention which I could probably get into? I want to go into kinesiology/exercise science/physiology/human biology.
THANK YOU SO MUCH

As as pre-freshman CMC’er myself, I’ll specifically comment on CMC.

Be sure to emphasize leadership. Your EC’s look pretty solid–try to make sure that you appear well-rounded and not just involved in athletics. Contact the CMS coaches–CMC is D-3, so you might have good enough times to get a bit of pull.

GPA/rank is a bit lacking but definitely not horrible. Also, ACT/SAT score is only middle of the road for CMC. Try to retake for higher scores to increase your chances.

Otherwise, I’d say you have a pretty good chance. Good luck!

PS: I got in with a 34 ACT/3.92 UW GPA/1st of 31 rank (non-competitive public)/Solid, leadership oriented EC’s

I agree, your EC are good enough for any University of California. Believe me, I am a high school student in California right now, and I live 3 miles away from one of them, UCSB. You athletics look solid :). Grade-wise, a few B’s won;t hurt your chances too much. The UC’s are not looking for perfect geniuses. I would try and improve your ACT score, but if u get 2100+ on the SAT, then you are SET. I agree, your rank is not going to drag you down, i think u fit the California University system very well.

Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it.

If anyone else has any input, especially on USC, I’d love to know.

Also, just found out SAT Reasoning Test scores. 720 CR, 680 M, 700 W = 2100 composite
