Hello,

I would like to ask your help to chance me for fall 2013 freshman admission.
Here is my profile:

GPA: 3.65 (UW), 3.71 (W)
SAT: 1740

Essay: Good (reviewed and confirmed by 2 teachers and a counselor)

ECs: Tennis Captain 2 years; 4 Years varsity tennis team
Volunteering @Feed the homeless (100 hours)
ASP rally commissioner (2 years)
HS Scholarship Club (2 years)

2 Good recommendation letters from teacher and coach.

Awards: Golden State Seal Merit Diploma
Tennis player who maintained highest GPA (2 years in a row)

Ethnicity: Asian

Major apply: History

Many thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

Based on your test score and grades, when compared to the average from last year, you are just below the average. USC, however, does review apps holistically, so if your essays and recommendations are great then there’s definitely a chance you could make it.

I got the Golden State Seal merit diploma too! Sadly I couldn’t include it in my USC Questbridge application because I submitted it already. :(

I believe you have a decent shot, though I know most people are going to rant about your low test score, but don’t let it get to you. Your EC’s and awards are pretty good! Good luck to both of us! :D

Thank you very much to both of you.

fighton,

Are you a ranked tennis player? Are your tennis skills strong enough for you to be a recruited athlete?

Your SAT score is low for SC. Last year the middle SAT composite for incoming freshmen was 1950-2190. Did you take the ACT?

Yeah, as above posters have said, you seem like a slightly below average candidate, but you have good EC’s, so you definitely have a chance

GPA is slightly below average, SAT moreso below average, so I would say USC is a reach.

Thank you all for your feedback.

I was a Fall 2011 candidate.

SAT 1900
GPA 3.9

Varsity Tennis Captain 2 years.
Hundreds of volunteer hours.
Steady job for four years at a high position in a local company.

Status: Rejected.

Thanks for the information.

Id say you have a lower chance, but its not impossible!
