Please Chance me for UW (Cali student) ?

My parents prefer that I stay in-state in CA, but U of Washington has recently caught my eye due to their International Studies program. Do I have a shot at UW?

SAT I (breakdown): 2170 (770 CR, 670 M, 730 W)
SAT II: planning on taking
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.83
Weighted GPA: 4.23
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 23/606
AP (place score in parenthesis): (5) Calculus AB, (5) APUSH, (4) AP Lang/Comp, (4) Euro
Senior Year Course Load: AP Calc BC, AP Lit, AP Psych, AP US Govt/Econ, Publications/Yearbook
ECs: Nothing extraordinary; miscellaneous volunteer work through clubs (app. have a total of 200 hours of volunteer work)

  • CSF (10-12): Treasurer (12)
  • Tennis (9-10): Co-Captain (10)
  • Key Club (9-11): Treasurer (12) - helped start a Builders Club @ local middle school to encourage volunteering for young students
  • Yearbook (11-12)
  • Model UN (12)
Intended Major: Global Studies/International Studies >> My interest in this subject/area is rather new (I only decided on it through extensive researching on majors over the summer and found the major appealing because I’ve always been a history/social science person), so I don’t have many ec’s that are geared toward it.

You have an excellent shot and should consider applying to the Honors Program.

Good luck!

There’s very little merit money available for OOS students, so keep that in mind, if you’re on a budget.

Up to $7,500 per year for four years.

@UWfromCA $7,500 sounds great, but I don’t believe it would be enough when you take into consideration to oos costs. Thank you though!
