Please chance me for WashU!

I am pretty much set on applying to WashU early decision and just wanted to hear more opinions...

Extra curriculars:

-Quintessence (our school's literary magazine)
-hebrew school for 12 years, involved at temple
-varsity field hockey, JV lacrosse
... and other activities.

Awards/honors:
-magna cum laude
-St. Lawrence Book Award (for community service)
-distinguished writing award for fiction (I want to be a writer!!)
-some art awards... will be sending in an art portfolio as well
-I was a scholar laureate in 8th grade... Not that it matters for college...
-and I may be a National Merit commended student, but I won't find out until September.

Also have a job as a lifeguard during the summer, and I'm taking summer classes in creative writing at Columbia this summer.

I went to visit WashU in May. I interviewed and am now pretty much obsessed. I loved the open environment, general flexibility, and availability of opportunities.

... chance me?

Also, here are some other schools I think I’m applying to:
Emory, GW, Michigan, Tulane, NYU, Richmond, William and Mary
But Wash U is by far my top choice (it is also my biggest reach…)

and if you have any other suggestions, feel free to mention them too!

ur a very strong applicant rlk, i would say ur in

wash U is getting tougher and tougher to get into because of smart people like you, yes i think you can get in, great GPA and ACT score and those awards are impressive, if you love the campus then great and as long as you write a good essay you should get in with that resume

HOPE THIS HELPED!!!
chance me back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/735932-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

thanks for the chances…

by the way, my GPA is weighted, if that makes a difference.

you’re looking good! i honestly don’t think you’ll get rejected, maybe waitlist bc washU waitlists so many people but if you show loads of interest you should be fine!

if anyone could chance me for the other schools i’ve listed as well as WashU, that would be really helpful!

thanks!

washu is the hardest to get into so i think you have very good chances at the rest too

umm yeah that matters a whole lot if your GPA is weighted. you said you take almost all AP/honors classes, which means your GPA is going to decrease considerably. if i’m correct, most colleges look at your unweighted gpa. therefore, i think thats really your lynch pin right there. everything else looks fantastic.

chance me too! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/740666-chances-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

hey thanks for chancing me. As for your chances, I think that WashU is in the range of a high match for you and I think that you probably will get in. The only thing that might be an issue for you is the UW gpa, but everything else is great and will overcome that. Also, as for the other schools I see the only ones being possibly a low reach as Michigan and William and Mary if you are OOS, but you have excellent chances at those as well. I think youre in at the rest, best of luck to you.

bump…

You are a very strong applicant and I don’t think Wash U is a big reach for you… I think its a low reach, and only because it is so selective… based on stats, I’d say its a match. I think you have just above a 60% shot at Washington University, which is really good!

I’d say Emory is a high match/low reach and I’d say you have a slightly better chance at Emory than at Wash U.

I’d say you are IN at GW

I’d say you are definitely in at the University of Michigan as well.

I’d say you have a 75-80% shot at Tulane. I’m tempted to say you are in, but it is a selective school… 27% acceptance rate… so I probably can’t quite say that… even though I think you are in for sure. :)

I’d say your as good as in at NYU. Of course, it’s never a sure thing, but I’d be surprised if you weren’t admitted.

I’d say you are in at Richmond

And your basically in at William and Mary, too.
But Wash U is by far my top choice (it is also my biggest reach…)
