Work Experience: I work at a local smoothie joint and teach piano

A little about myself. I love playing the piano and it has taught me numerous life lessons. Although I'm asian I am definitely a old skool muscle car type of person. Even though I have placed nationally for debate, my team and I are self-taught amateurs and we have never had any prior debate experience. And I'm hoping to build a car sometime next year! (hopefully a 1968 mustang gt fastback with a cobra jet and ram air!)

I'm hoping to major in Finance and will take PreMed courses as well.
I also go to one of the primary in-state feeder schools for Chapel Hill. Our school has about 10 people that end up going to the top 20 colleges and the Ivy League.

Colleges I'm applying to:
uPenn Wharton ED
Harvard
Duke
Wake Forest (Calloway)
Emory (Goizueta)
UNC Chapel Hill (Kenan-Flagler)
NYU (Stern)
NC State

Ya basically as good a chance as anyone. Try to convey the fact that you aren’t - excuse my political incorrectness - “just another asian kid” because you aren’t and you can show your uniqueness in your essays. Just make sure it shines through and you’ve got the best chance anyone can have. But even then it’s not a shoe-in obviously.

If you can get your SATs up to a 2200, you’ll drastically improve your chances. Your GPA is excellent and you seem to have some good ec’s. I laughed a bit at Quaker’s post because I had to prove that I wasn’t just another white kid (applying to the college, not wharton).

Good Luck :)

hahaha
Thanks guys, you pretty much made my day!

I’m a little worried about the 2 in comp sci and the SAT but the rest looks good but nothing really stands out
try to find a way to bridge your interests in business and in biomed (perhaps vagelos is for you?) because from your app it doesn’t feel like wharton is the direction you want to go in and might nail you in the “fit” criteria

I was worried about that AP as well, but I think colleges don’t see my AP scores until after you get accepted (I didn’t send them to any colleges when I first got my scores).
I was going to apply to one of the dual-degree programs, but I called the admissions office and they said that there was a special program that numerous Wharton UGs are involved in that allows them to take all their PreMed course while they are at Wharton.

leave the 2 in AP CS off of the common app
your ECs are good
definitely get that SAT score up to at least 2200 :]

as a candidate are u sure ur suited to wharton and not penn engineering? just somehting to think about. Also why not get ur SAT to a 2200 and try RD ull do great!

What do you mean? I should try for the M&T program?
I want to do ED because acceptance rates are higher rate right?

btws my end of junior year rank is 7th now

Hey. Im looking to apply to Wharton ED.
Just a question? did you get IN???
