I'm really nervous because I know there are a lot of male asians applying with really impressive applications. Do I have a shot at getting into Wharton?

Honestly, your scores are exactly what Wharton would expect, but the fact that you’re both an Asian male and a high income bracket will severely affect your chances. Your ECs are good, but not exactly what they’d expect from someone in your income bracket. To be quite frank, Wharton RD is much more difficult than ED, and other than your YouTube channel, there really isn’t much distinction between you and many other hopeful applicants. You do have a shot, but you better hope your essays really make a statement.

@d4ntoine‌ what kinds of extracurriculars would you expect from someone in my income bracket? I know ethnicity plays a large role in affirmative action but I didn’t know income does too. I go to a boarding school so I see my parents like twice a year. Do you think that will negatively impact my application?

@Musktard I would pay little attention to what d4toine has said. Just because you have a high income, does not mean you are expected to have a certain type of EC. IMO your EC seems fine. As long as you used all resources to your advantage and wrote a compelling Why Penn essay, you’ll be fine. Your time should be spent polishing your essay. At this point, it’s too late to add more/different EC. Also Having money will not negatively impact your decision.
