Okay so UF is my top choice and after stalking last year’s decision form, i’m starting to really freak out because i feel like i don’t have a chance. I’d really appreciate it if someone could honestly chance me so i have a better idea of my chances.

UW GPA: 3.5
W GPA: 4.1

Sophomore year: 2 regular classes, 4 honors, 1 AP (mainly A’s and B’s)

As you can tell, i’ve had an upward trend in both my grades and class rigor. Does UF view this favorably?
Try not to stress out about this stuff, it’s not worth it. You have great grades and will end up at a great school, including UF.
With UF’s holistic admissions, 50% is based on GPA (most important), class rigor, test scores and essay (which matters at UF). The other 50% is based on ECs, volunteer work, leadership, work, etc. This makes it hard to “chance” anyone at UF, and it makes admissions seem a bit random.
Your GPA is a little low (just outside the middle 50%) as is your SAT. Not considering your EC’s, this makes UF a high match to match. You should plan on taking the SAT again (UF does superscore your test), otherwise, it is what it is. Make sure you apply by Nov 1’st (and UF will take any new SAT results up until the end of December).
Yes, they do, as one of many things they will look at as part of holistic admissions.
You have a shot at UF and should apply. However, you need (anyone really, that applies to UF) to apply to several other schools and keep your options open. With your grades, several other great schools are available, many of which would offer scholarships (UCF, USF, Auburn, University of Alabama, etc.).
You will also have the option of transferring to UF in the future. About 1/3 of the undergraduates at UF are transfer students.
