Please chance me! I really need it!

I am currently a junior in the state of NC. I would like to go to NC state for engineering (Computer Science). I currently have a 4.0 UW and 4.4375 W GPA. By the end of this year, I will have taken 8 AP courses. My SAT is 1450. My EC’s aren’t too impressive but I am a member of Key Club for 2 years (100 hours), volunteered at a tutoring center for 6 months, played piano for 9 years and gave 4 public performances, member of National Honor Society this year, completed a 10 week comp sci webinar that was hosted by NC State themselves, won 2 math competitions (one 7th place of 256 and one 14th place of 255), participated in 2 virtual hackathons, participated in an app challenge, and member of Technology Student Association.
I can get a rec from my tutoring teacher, who went to Yale and is a professor at UNC Chapel Hill. I don’t know about other recs.

Your metrics compare favorably to the school’s overall numbers. The College of Engineering reports the school’s overall numbers, not a specific Engineering range, so I assume they are similar.

There are many factors that go into admissions, but from just the data provided, I’d say it’s a solid match with a good chance of admission, but not to the extent that it’s a safety school.

Curious - what do you really need it for?

Its my dream school. I just wanted to see where I fit in.
Thank you!

No, you don’t “really need” to be ‘chanced’ in the autumn of your junior year. Not only that, but you know (or should know) that your stats put you in good shape, and almost certainly your GC will be giving you Naviance (or similar) info this year.

Simmer down, cut out the click-bait titles, and focus on your school work and ECs. Getting this wound up about something that is a year away is a waste of good energy!

I apologize. I did not know it was that serious. But thank you so much for telling me that I have a good chance, helps me feel better and gives me assurance. Once again, I apologize.

Your stats should be more than enough to get into NCSU engineering, especially if you’re in-state. You could probably call it a safety school. Naturally, you’ll want to apply to a few back-up schools just in case, but I think you’re fine. Congrats on all the hard work!

Wow really? Thank you so much!

I don’t think you should worry at all! Your stats sound incredible. Remember that everyone on cc is going to be extra harsh so don’t worry. Keep grinding my G!
