Please chance me! I will chance back!! :)

Hi I'm a Chinese female, born in China and adopted by US Caucasian parents. I live in Illinois and have lived in Japan and Michigan too.

I'm going to apply to the following colleges in the fall:
Case Western, Cornell U, Lawrence U, Northwestern U, Oberlin College, Purdue U, Rose-Hulman, Stanford U, U of Notre Dame, U of Rochester, Vanderbilt U, and Wash U in St. Louis
*With Lawrence U and Oberlin, I would do the 3/2 program (3 years at LA school and then 2 at partner school probably Wash U to end up with a BA in physics or chemistry or something similar and BS in engineering)

I am looking to go into a field of engineering, possibly chemE. I know that it's a lot harder to get into engineering schools but I'm hoping that I'll be able to still get into some good programs. Please chance me for any or all of the schools I listed above. My dream school is Stanford U but I know it's extremely hard to get in. Thanks so much!

Apply ED to Stanford and hope for the best. Your SAT IIs are shaky.

Purdue has a great engineering program. Also try Texas A&M University. You should be fine on acceptance to both!

I just got my June SAT II scores back and they’re a little better at least. 770 USH, 720 Math Level II, and 660 Physics. Do you think those won’t hurt me now at least?

The physics might a little, i dont know how many your schools ask for (you may not want to send it), but the others shouldn’t be a hindrance at all.

Yeah, your new subject test scores seem much better! Physics might be on the lower side, but it shouldn’t hurt you a ton. Your stats look great! Nice amount of AP and a great GPA to go with it. I’m interested in engineering myself…wish I had some of your resume lol. Good luck! :)

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1355632-chance-me-pretty-please.html</a></p>

We’re applying to 5 of the same schools. :o)

I would really try and get your physics score up or not send at all if not required. I only say that because you want to get into an engineering program, and that score won’t be able to compete at some of the top universities you plan on applying to. Other than that your resume seems great. When you write your essays, focus on how a few of your ECs have made you a better person and passionate about something instead of laundry-listing everything.

I forgot, maybe you could help me with my final list:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1355540-list-colleges-good.html</a></p>

I just received my ACT scores from June and I got it up to a 34 Composite. I had a 35E, 34M, 36R, 32S. So now I have a superscore of 35 as well. Do you think that significantly improves my chances, especially at Stanford? Also if I haven’t chanced you back yet, I will very soon. Thanks guys!

Hey your GPA and ACT score are pretty solid, your EC’s look decent, but even with your raised SAT II scores, they’re a bit low for some of those top tiered schools. Stanford ED would be a bit of a stretch but I’d say get 2+ of those SAT II’s to at least 750, write some great essays, and get some good recs and you should be a competitive applicant for a good majority of your schools. Remember that going in as an engineering major is much more competitive but hope for the best!

Chance me please! Search: Please chance me for some top schools! :)

Id say little chance at stanford, because a school like that is always a hit or miss. If youre really looking into rose hulman, i had similar stats and got in as well as a hefty merit financial aid package. I did apply to engineering for every single school I applied to and got rejected to everything in the top 20s. Will be attending usc in the fall as a chemE. Have you considered usc?

I’d suggest taking Math II and Physics again in October? I’d agree with the others and would advise you to ED to Stanford and try to show your passion for a particular subject/aspect of your academic record/ECs within your essays. Stanford is a reach (but it is for practically every applicant) but I’d say you have a good chance at a lot of your other colleges!

Chance me back please!
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1360777-chances-hyps-urm.html</a></p>

Your ACT score is great and should make you competitive at least. I’d say take the Physics and math II again since you want to major in engineering. Both of them have a generous curve and you should get scores above 750. Also, I’m not seeing any engineering related ECs. With that being said, Stanford and Cornell are high reaches, Northwestern, Vandy, and Wash U are moderate reaches. I think you have a good shot at ND with your academic record. Make sure your essays and recs are great!

nice resume. really great ACT score and pretty good GPA, but it’s probably worth more since you go to a competitive school. ECs are stellar. Obviously shows you have a passion for swimming and music especially.

I think you are a match for Case Wester, Lawrence, Rochester, and Rose-Hulman. Slight reach for Wash U, Purdue, and Notre Dame. Reach with the rest, mostly because their engineering programs are much harder to get into than their other schools. However, the fact that you are a girl should help. Good luck!

Hey guys if you wouldn’t mind, from now on please chance me on this forum: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1358111-updated-please-chance-me-any-all-schools-i-will-chance-back.html</a>. It has updated stats and such because this one was created before June ACT and SAT II results came out. Thanks so much! :)
