If my scores for ISEE were
VR: 7
RC: 5
QR: 9
MA: 9
and my SAT score is around 2000

I am in 10th grade, have a 4.00 GPA UW, have competed in Science Olympiad for four years (gone to nationals twice, always ranked in top twenty), play tennis (3 years - am a member of the school team and rec. league), play violin (my orchestra recently won 3rd in a national contest), and piano.

I am also a Library Ambassador (I plan events for children that go on at public libraries), volunteer at the animal shelter and am a member of the Junior Civitans.

However, I feel that most of these things are qualities that every prospective student has...so I am worried that the 5 will be detrimental to my admission

I am applying to Andover, Exeter, Deerfirld, Groton, Milton, and Hotchkiss...Does anyone have an idea on if I have a chance at these schools? Or if there is a school that I can use as a safety?

You have an average chance at all of them, however, your chances would increase if you played a sport and an instrument!

Chance me for Exeter!!!

Go to my profile please chance me back :)

I am a member of my school’s tennis team…and I used to swim but that was during middle school…

and I have played violin for 9 years and piano for 10…so would that help my chances go up substantially than without them because I also have won various awards…

I also speak english and korean fluently and have taken 3 years of spanish

Yes that would help You. Are You Asian? No offence or racism meant, but a large number of asian students attend and apply to the schools You are looking at, which means that it will be harder for You to get in, but You are for sure a candidate worth considering!

yes I’m asian…but was born in America (as most others are)

another thing that is kind of bad is that I live in Alabama which is not a very good state so you can see why I want to get out…but I’ve noticed that none of these schools hav e a single student that is from Alabama

That would be a plus for You because BS’s want DiversitY, even from States!
