<p>Hello there everyone;</p>

<p>I'm a Senior who goes to school in Virginia. I was wondering if someone could chance me for For Oberlin Early Decision?</p>

<p>ACT - 27 (29 E/ 22M/ 32R/ 24S)</p>

<p>Class Rank - Unknown (School does not rank students)</p>

<p>I have strong ECs, including the following - </p>

<p>3 Years of Model U.N.
Mock Trial Club
Muslim Student Association
Scholastic Bowl
Varsity Tennis
Speech/Debate
NHS (Senior Year)</p>

<p>GPA - 3.798 (not certain whether this is weighted or unweighted, will ask conselour)</p>

<p>A.P. Classes and Scores:</p>

<p>AP World History - 3, AP U.S. History - 3, AP Environmental Sci - 2, AP Lang - 4, AP Lit, AP Econ, AP Stats, AP Bio</p>

<p>I have a great teacher recommendation and one from my counselor as well. Please let me know if there is anything else that could help make a decision.</p>

<p>I have no idea of what your chances might be based on your stats, but I have heard that a good response to the “Why Oberlin?” essay can be quite helpful.</p>

<p>My opinion: GPA is very good; ECs are very good; ACT is sort of average (for Oberlin). But you can make up for it, like Bassdad said, with a bang-up Why Oberlin? essay.</p>

<p>I’m curious where you got that info, Plainsman. If OP’s GPA is weighted he’s probably well below last year’s median (3.6). His ACT is also below the 25th percentile (28). Are you a URM, OP? This would help. If not…is it too late to ED?</p>
