Please chance me! i'll chance back!!! brandeis, hamilton, mount holyoke, amherst, etc

Hi!

So, i'm an international student from Romania and i'm a bit discouraged by the stats i've been seeing here.

My school doesn't make class ranks but i'm probably in the top quarter of my class, nor does it calculate GPA but my average grade is about 9.5 or more out of 10.
As for SATs i've taken the mathematics level II - 740 and french with listening - 730, and i've just taken the SAT Reasoning Test. I expect a minimum of 2000.
I've also taken the Cambridge in Advanced English and got a B, and I own a European Computer Driving License. I've participated in a few competitions at couny level of which i mention a first prize at informatics and a third prize at chemistry.

Do I stand any chance at being admitted at:
Brandeis EDII
Hamilton
Amherst
Mount Holyoke
Williams
Smith
Dartmouth?

Thanks!!!

Well, I hate to prick your bubble but the intimidating stats that you see are probably the truest representation of admits at your dream colleges.

Two tips: a) Hope for 2250+ in your SAT Reasoning, and you’ll have decent chances at Amherst, Williams, MHC and Dartmouth. b) Get out there, and participate in some more ECs.

Rest are pretty much matches, I think. A

Smith, Holyoke, Hamilton and Brandeis look doable. The others, unless they really want someone from Romania and get few applications, you unfortunately don’t have the stats for.

Do you have any suggestions for colleges that offer financial aid for internationals and are within my reach because i must say i need pretty much aid:D

Mount Holyoke and Smith are pretty fantastic about financial aid. Though be aware, for Mount Holyoke at least, that what ever package you get your first year will be the same amount for all four years. Stats for Holyoke, Smith, and Hamilton look real good.
;)

How is your SAT paula ? If you have it i can chance you more easily

Mount holyoke is the most possible. It’s VERY easy to get in. :P

Smith is kind of different from the other schools in that Smith doesn’t really care about SAT score-- unless you’re up for STRIDE or something. If you look at past Smith acceptance/rejection threads, quite a few people with SAT scores of around 2200 and higher were rejected, while people with scores around 2000 were accepted.

So yeah, people were talking about needing higher SAT scores, for Smith at least that’s not a problem. Your ECs look good, so I’d guess that you’ll get in.

MH tends to be self-selecting, but that said, it’s clearly not as selective as Amherst or Williams. I think you’ll get in.

Williams, Dartmouth, and Amherst, I doubt that you’ll get in. But you have a chance, I’m not of any authority. They’re just really competitive schools.

Hamilton’s a good target school, I’d guess you have a 65% chance of getting in.
