I just moved to california from Pakistan. When evaluated my gpa it comes out to be 3.22 unweighed since we have no AP classes back in Pakistan. I just took 2 online histroty classes 0.5 credits each and got A's in both of them. So i dont know how much my gpa will increase because of the courses. I am a senior now and will start applying to colleges in september or october.
I am planning on applying to Penn State UP, Penn state Harrisburg, Umass Amherst and a few other colleges.
Here are my stats:
.UW gpa: 3.22 before the two courses i took
.No AP classes
.A few hours of community service
.No sports as i have a disk herniation in my back
.No extra curricular activities
.Will be taking my ACT in October
Thats pretty much it.
So what are my chances of getting into these colleges?
Please help me out

I think the GPA might be considered low, but if you have your counselor write an explanatory note, then the low GPA might be overlooked. We need more insight into your ACT score when it comes. Also, you have to have at least one thing you did outside of school.

I am doing community service. What do you mean by explanatory note?

is it low for penn state harrisburg too?

Hey not that it’s something you should rely on, or anyone for that matter, but think about early decision. It might push you over the edge. Upenn’s acceptance is about 10% regular decision but like 30% early decision. Its not that dramatic for other schools but I would look into it.

OP is talking about penn state university park not UPenn

But gpa is probably not good enough for Amherst, UPark, the rest is good

explanatory note: explaining why your gpa was so low, and it’s that you just came here so that’s why you might have had difficulties

Yah i am thinking about early decision because umass amherst does not have a resvticed early action policy so if i’m rejected from umass and penn state up then i’ll look at harrisburg and some other safety colleges
