Please chance me, im in over my head!

So I am midway into this college application process, and I would like to hear some feedback from others who have applied to the schools I am looking at or can guess what my chances are. Here are my stats, please post back and ill chance you too!

SAT: 750 CR, 675 Math, 700 Writing so 2125 composite (1425 on the 1600 scale)
SAT II: US History 750, will be taking English and Spanish tests also!
AP: US History 5, English III 5
ACT: 30 composite
GPA: 5.4 weighted, 3.6 unweighted

Currently taking 4 AP's and one honors

Extra Curricular: Varsity XC, Varsity Track and Field, VP of Spanish club, Junior Warden of Chapel program (equivalent to VP), 4 year Vestry member, 3 Year SGA Officer --Secretary/Treasurer, Food Administration, Judicial Board (student disciplinary trial system), Model UN, Youth and Government

Awards: Everett Whitehurst Powell Scholarship for Study Abroad, NHS, National Spanish Honor Society

Hook: Studied Abroad in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, worked in an orphanage, built homes in Mexico

Comm Service: youth mentor, work with elderly handicapped, habitat for humanity

Now, let me tell you which schools i'm looking at:
Reach: Georgetown, Tufts University, UVA
50/50: George Washington, Boston College, Boston University, Bates College, UNC-Chapel Hill
Safety: American University

PLEASE PLEASE REPLY BACK!!!!

…how did you get a 675 on math?

^really…

Please excuse my ignorance, but isn’t a 675 on math and a 2125/1425 rather impossible?

And did you participate in all of those EC’s WHILE studying abroad in such a fashion as you did?

By the way, what’s AP English III?

How does Chapel Hill fall as a match if UVA is a reach. Both of them are known as being almost near impossible to get into OOS. Anyway I’m kind of confused by the SAT thing as well. Your information is really confusing as nervoussenior points out. Not sure how you studied abroad twice, but did EC’s for 4 years. Also is your GPA super weighted or something. I mean for it to be 2 points higher than your unweighted just sounds impossible.
Mind explaining that one to me. Once you fix everything it will be easier to chance you.

alright guys,

1: my sat math was a 650 not a 675 ( i was just guessing before, cause i was too lazy to check the college board) so thats a 2100 composite

2:I studied abroad in Costa Rica and Nicaragua during the same summer (they are in session when we are off) i didnt do an exchange program, thats different than studying abroad

3:My gpa isn’t super weighted, i just had 4 ap’s which are on a 6 point scale and one honors which is on a 5 point scale…its not that weird its probably the same at yalls schools

4:UNC is a match because i’m in state, which makes it easier whereas applying to UVA out of state is nearly impossible so thats why its a reach

oh and nervoussenior: AP English 3 is the same as AP Lit and Comp (its just what we call it at my school) So i hope that clears everything up, thanks for the accusatory posts but i would like to know what you think about my chances for these schools :)

Actually I think AP III is Lang Comp. not Lit

I don’t understand your GPA? You tell me you have a 3.6/5.0 UW? and a 5.4/6.0 W?
That doesn’t make sense?? Well, not to me. Do you know your class rank? That would help us make a decision.
And your “hook” really isn’t a hook, it’s just something you do. A “hook” is being a URM, athlete, legacy, etc.

AP III is Lang and comp at my school, and IV is Lit.

And It´s much better that way, because that´s the order you need in progression.

I don’t think you can consider BC and BU in the same category. BU is easier to get into than BC.

we dont do class rank, and my gpa is a unweighted 3.6/4 (not 5 vdplayer, and i only meant it was a ‘hook’ because its an experience that might set me apart from others so pardon my confusing wording)

thanks for the helpful tip 4gsmom! i would like to hear constructive ideas on the possibility of me being accepted to these schools, not a criticism of my profile

If you want us to chance you, then please make an accurate profile. I still don’t get your GPA. I’m guessing regular classes is out of 4. How is it then that your W GPA is almost 2 points higher than your UW GPA.

But if you have a rank, then I could care less about you explaining your GPA. Rank tells me just as much.
