Please chance me. :) (Link me and I'll chance back!)

I want to major in business, which is super competitive. I'm also applying to top 20 colleges or colleges around there. Do you think my stats are too bad to apply to top 20 colleges? If so, where should I apply? Thanks!

So far, my college list is Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, UPenn, USC, NYU. My college counselor told me to add four more privates and to finalize my list. Please help!

Leave a link and I'll chance you back. :)

Being female will help you if you apply to business school (not as many women interested in business, so that makes you unique). Rank would be nice to know b/c if that GPA is NOT good if it’s not highly ranked, and it will kill you at the top schools. If your GPA is top 10 percent, and you apply ED to any of the non-ivy schools, I think you will get in. The ivies will be a bit harder…

My school doesn’t rank! :(

You’ve got great chances at NYU and Carnegie Mellon.
You’re in the pool for Cornell and Penn, although your chances aren’t great, but you’ve got a shot.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1233201-ill-chance-you-back-some-competitive-schools.html#post13379847

I think CMU, NYU and USC you have a very good shot. Penn and Cornell are very very tough and the stats may put you out of the running. Be sure to emphasize your essays/recs and you might have a shot. You never know, but I think if you retook and applied RD it might help.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1229374-chance-duke-top-publics-will-chance-back.html

thanks :)

I think you have really awesome ECs! You have a great shot at either Penn or Cornell ED, but RD would definitely be a lot tougher. CMU, NYU, and USC I’d say you’re basically in!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1232781-chance-me-ivies-top-lacs-will-chance-back.html

NYU Stern? Penn Wharton?

You have a really good shot at them all. Penn Wharton will be close but I think you would get in. Cornell would be a slight reach. Overall you have a really good chance at all of them.
Please chance me back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1233331-please-chance-me-following-schools-will-chance-back.html
Thanks!!

Penn Wharton is probably a low reach, and Cornell is a high match, but you could definitely get in either one, especially ED. I’d be surprised if you got rejected from any other schools. Good luck! Chance back if you can @ http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1201569-chances-senior-will-chance-back.html

Wharton is a big reach. The acceptance rate is about 11%.

Thanks guys! I’ll chance you back now. :)

Also, is it going to hurt my chances that my school doesn’t rank?

Not many schools rank so you shouldnt be worried about it.
As people said above, women applying for Business school will get you some advantage ( a big advantage for engineering schools)
Good luck
