Of course, I have backups (including my flagship state university, which has already offered me a full-ride) but Yale is my absolute top choice.

Sorry for the long post. Please chance me! Thank you!

You sound like you definitely have a chance! Your stats are not low by any means, really. It’s up to what the Yale admissions office thinks, but I’d say you’ve definitely got a good shot! Btw I’m applying scea too! I probably won’t get in but maybe we’ll see each other there, haha.

I think you have an excellent chance. I’d say Low Reach/ Reach, because Yale is a reach to basically anyone.

Chance Me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1559607-chances-getting-into-bu.html

You’re app is really strong! I would say you have as good as chance as anyone, but from what I’ve seen 90% of Yale SCEA applicants are all amazing :frowning: While I hate having such stiff competition to get in, that’s what makes Yale so great. That said, definitely go for it! Good luck!

Chance me back?

Thank you everyone! I also have another question: does Yale regard an applicant negatively for taking the SATs or an SAT Subject Test three times? I have heard that an applicant should never take an SAT II more than twice but others have said that 3 times for one subject is still acceptable.

bump bump bump!

Are you in Maryland or Virginia?

I know my stats and ECs may be relatively low/unimpressive

By the standards of who? Gregory House?

Take something to heart: when Yale says that applying SCEA does not improve your chances, they mean that applying SCEA does not improve your chances.

Low Reach/Reach.

@Dixie39 haha love House! that show basically inspired me to become a doctor. I tend to judge myself very harshly and I know that I can’t compare with Intel winners or NIH/NASA interns. Thanks for the heads up about Yale.

bump bump bump!

Yale SCEA: Reach to high reach

Nothing special other than rank.
STEM female and your HS might help but… it still is a reach school.
