Please chance me on public CA colleges.

Hi I am a high school senior from a public high school in California(ranked in top #250 in us news high school rankings). I have about a 3.8 uw and a 4.1 w gpa. My ec's are 250+ hours volunteering at a hospital(working with sick children), I was on the jv golf team for 1 year and on the varsity team for two years now. Also, I have spoke on JDRF's children's congress at the white house to raise more money for type 1 diabetes and have mentored a type 1 Diabetic for 2 1/2 years also through JDRF Mentor Program. I have been in the girl up club for 3 years and have participated in the meditation program for 2 1/2 years. I also have about 100 hours of my part-time job. I have a 2100 sat and 29 act. I plan on majoring in child dev. and psychology. What do you think my chances would be for a biomed engineering/engineering major? What do you think my chances are of getting into:

UC Santa Barbara
UC San Diego
UC Davis
UC Irvine
Cal Poly
CSU Long Beach
CSU Fullerton

My assessment based your stats:

UC San Diego - 50/50
UC Davis- Probably
UC Irvine- Highly likely
Cal Poly (assume you mean SLO) probably
CSU Long Beach - almost definitely
CSU Fullerton - almost definitely
CSU Chico- almost definitely
CSU East Bay- almost definitely
CSU Humboldt- almost definitely

Good luck.

Please calculate and post your CSU/UC GPA.

Why aim so low? You have great stats, and I think you should apply to some reaches like UCB and UCLA.

UCD and UCI are about the same selective. UCI is much more selective than UCSB.
UCB >= UCLA > UCSD > UCD >= UCI > UCSB > UCSC > UCR > UCM.

CSU/UC GPA: 4.22
Are these based on an biomed/engineering major or a child dev./psychology major?

Chances for BME:

UCSD: High Match/Low Reach
SLO/UCSB/UCD/UCI: Match/High Match

CSULB/CSUF/CHICO/CSUEB/CSU HUMBODLT: Match

I do not understand your predictions. I know that biomedical engineering is impacted, but OP’s stats are well above average for every UC. Shouldn’t OP’s chances be much better than what you predict?

I also have a very debilitating disease that I mentioned in my essay. I have had to go on medical leave twice during high school and still struggled from pain throughout high school. I would’ve taken more challenging courses if I didn’t have the disease.
