Class rank is good...you should probably either get your ACT to at least 31-32 or your SAT to at least 1400/1600. Write good essays because admissions is holistic...they won't get to hung up on your scores, but OOS admissions is extremely competitive, so everybody always needs all the help they can get!

practice on your standardized testing skills. Take a practice SAT test every week or at least work on math/or reading section per week. This will improve your speed.
You have enough extracurricular activities. Don't worry to much about them. Just keep working on your grades and practice writing. By the way, if the essay topics for UNC are up, start writing them up.

Thank you guys. Any tips on prepping for the ACT?

Do you like the ACT more than the SAT?

Take some SAT 2's that you think you can get a good score on(700+). This along with a higher SAT(1400) could get you in but even then I would consider you a 50:50 candidate. UNC is definately the hardest school to get into out of state(except UVA for females).

I'd say "sure" for in state but I really don't see why they would let you in OOS. It might be best to stick to somewhere closer to home. There is nothing great about your APs or your GPA and your SATs aren't the best. Good luck though.

Although I agree with PDutchy on the SATs, I will have to disagree with the GPA. You are doing fine. Keep up the GPA and still take as many AP's as you can.
You will do fine.

I think your GPA is in the zone----D got in with about the same GPA---work on the SAT score and you will be in a good position.

stop worrying! I think you'll get in!!!
