Well hello, this is my first time starting a thread, I will be starting 8th grade soon so yeah, Im ready to take the SSATs. Im applying for a lot of good schools, and I have no idea if I can get in with my stats. And I need financial aid.
ExtraCurriculars:
Community Service
E=MC^2(For people who does better than normal)
Gifted and Talented
Karate
Chess
Origami
Sports:
Tennis
Snooker(British Pool)

Grades:
Fairly decent, straight A's and no grade lower than 93% I am also taking advanced science course and advanced math. I kinda skipped a grade in a way. Im taking the most advanced classes my school has to offer.
SSAT:
Probably going to get a really high score, 2300? I did very good on the practice tests.
So can you guys give me comments for improval or chances please? criticisms are also welcomed :) Taking SSAT in October. Oh I forgot to add Blair Academy, Mercerburg Academy, Hill School, Perkiomen School, and The Hun school of Princeton.

BTW Im also fluent in English(lol im typing this right now:)), Mandarin, and Shanghainess( or however you spell that). I really wish to see what you guys think of my app so far. I want to have a chance to perfect it within the near future. Thanks!

Haha I know, I am not going to apply for HADES except for Andover. I live right next to Peddie so yea, Peddie is a definite app. so is lawrenceville, hun, and blair, maybe mercerburg and hill, too. Trying to make myself a a bit diverse. I can write the essays, I am a efficient worker. BTW is Deerfield a good school? I haven’t made my final choices yet, so all conclusions made now are subject to change, or cancellation. But thank you for your response and your concern :)

Haha…yeah. I just didn’t want you to go into the process thinking that each school only gave one essay or that they were all the same and then freak out
Yes! Deerfield is a great school! But then again…so are many of the others on your list. It all comes down to which one best fits you! If you have any questions feel free to PM me

Can we please let the “HADES” acronym die already???

You should know from your stats and stuff that you qualify for top schools on paper, but there are more qualified kids applying than there are spots, so plenty of kids with your grades and stats will be rejected. (just read old posts and follow some posters from their “chance me” threads through M10. Lots of kids we thought would be in were left with nothing. It will come down to whether or not the admissions people think you. are a good fit for their school, and if you fill a need that they have (like they just graduated their star origami folder…jk! but you see what i’m getting at.).

So keep doing what you’re doing and good luck!!!

Lol I can’t think of another username. Yea thanks bigcelticsfan, I will do my best to “please” the admission people. And deerbri, I think of some xD

i mean if you’ve essentially skipped a grade, and you assume to get a SSAT score around a 2300 then you’re smart. Also that E=MC^2 club counts, and so does the gifted and talented program. Plus, stupid people don’t play chess very often… Good Luck!

I would definitely suggest taking the SSAT twice and having at least a month inbetween the dates to look at your scores, see what you need to improve on, and study some more. The schools take your best scores.
