SAT: 2060 (trying to increase it to 2100+)
weighted GPA: 4.02
Extracurricular:
-8 years piano
-3 years Guitar
-2 years tennis on school team, but i've been playing at a club level since I was 5 and I'll be doing track my senior year of HS.
-Volunteered at Temple for several years
- Youth Coordinator at temple
- Vice President of Book Club
- Teach tennis to underpriviledged kids at the local club
- I've had some of my writing published in a literary magazine
-CSF
-NHS
- Key Club
- STAND! (A club helping those affected by the genocide occuring in Darfur)
-Volunteered at a local hopsice and for the American Red Cross & Cancer Society
-Cultural dance for 6 years
- Science Alliance for 3 years (I helped 5th graders from local schools on their science fair project)
- I've also tutored underpriviledged elementary/middle school children with their homework through a library program.</p>
<p>I've also taken a rigorous course load. Junior year I took 4 weighted classes, (2 AP's and 2 honors), Soph I took 1 honors class, and senior year I'm taking two. </p>
<p>I thought I'd respond to some of these threads cause I was in your shoes last year (NYU is all and better!!!)</p>
<p>Nonetheless, your test scores are good (especially for ED) the GPA a bit low, and comperable to other apllicants "rigor" the courseload is also good, but I'd say most NYU applicants take almost exclusively High Honors and Ap courses (if they're offered)</p>
<p>What would you do if they offered you GSP? Something to think about, it's very common in cases where say the tests are very strong, but the GPA not so much and vice versa. (I think they have a new name for GSP next year...or so rumour has it)</p>
<p>Excellent stats, Write a killer essay and get excellent LOR and it looks good.
