Please chance me @ tech

Hi everyonee

This is my first time posting thread on cc, and I just wanted to know if I'm at least qualified to apply for early action @ tech..

This is my 4th year living in U.S., and I will be applied as international student
(I'm Korean..)

Rank : Not available yet, but guessing 70% top 25% and 30% top 50% (many smart guys in my school)

GPA : 3.78(UW), 3.84(W) - I only took AP Calc AB until junior year :( and only ha.d honor class in math, science and chinese

ACT : 30(Superscored comp),28(Single-highest comp), 29(Highest Eng), 35(Highest Math)

SAT II : Math IIC: 720 (Not considering to send this score..?)

AP Score: AB(4)

Senior yr schedule : AP Micro Econ, AP Chinese, AP Environmental Science, 12th Lit, AP Calculus BC, and Broadcast Video Production(I've been taking band till last year..but there was a schedule conflict in this year..)

EC : 3 community orchestras, key club treasurer, national chinese honor society president, marching band, and pep band.

Honors : got all the awards only from Chinese area... Got superior on some state/local language competitions.

I've been living in GA, and every year I see the acceptance rate decreases and the stats(gpa, sat, etc.) increases... Tech is like my #1 school..
Can everyone at least tell me if I have a decent chance to apply?
Thanks!!

yes you have a decent chance. your math act and gpa are good. are you taking bc this semester? apply by nov 1, and if not admitted then, you can update with fall semester grades.they better be good.

Thanks itsme123…!!
The only thing I am worried is if I get rejected, I cannot apply for the regular decision, but I guess I am still going to take a shot…
The other concern is that fact that I am applying as an international student(maybe harder to get in)
Am I concerning way too much?? College apps are killing mee

You will not be rejected outright during early admission without a serious deficiency in your application. You seem to be on-target for a GT admit, so I don’t consider that a very likely scenario.

From what I’ve seen in past years, they only reject students early if they have absolutely no chance at a regular admission. If you’re even remotely qualified you get at least deferred to regular admission.

So basically you have nothing to lose applying early (well, unless you’re interested in applying to another school with binding early admission).
