<p>My background is a bit special because I immigrated to the US just one year ago from China. My school's in bay area in California.My counselor told me that around 2 students from my school get accepted into Stanford every year.
Below are my stats:
SAT: CR 670 Math 800 Writing 710 composite 2180
SATII : Physics 800 Math 800(I just got the score today and sent it, but I'm not sure if the admission office would get it or not)
GPA: unweighted 4.0 weighted 4.33333
class rank: 7 out of 440ish
AP: physics 5<br>
currently taking: AP gov't, AP bio, AP calculus, English </p>
<p>cultural ambassador, representing my province in China to visit Australia on a inter-governmental trip

practice Chinese calligraphy since grade one</p>

<p>my main essay is good. It's about my immigration experience and how I deal with cultural shock. </p>

<p>intellectual vitality: it's kinda special cos I wrote about how I'm interested in translate English into Chinese ,how this helped me learn English and help me explore the cultural difference hiding behind languages.</p>
<p>Introduction to roommate: it's good. It's about how I overcame difficulties to fit in American high school.</p>
<p>why stanford:it's not great, but ok.</p>
<p>but my short answer in common app is really crappy.(I think it's gonna hurt me)</p>
