You should research the statistics of the recent admitted students of the schools on your list and compare the your high school GPA, SAT scores, etc. to those of their admitted students’ averages. You would be a competitive applicant for both Stevens and RPI, Stevens’ average GPA is 3.82/4.0 and RPI’s is 3.88 (yours is a bit below that but I think your other stats are competitive). The 25-75th percentile SAT for Stevens is 1280-1430, for RPI 1280-1470. Lack of AP courses I think can be explained legitimately that your school doesn’t offer them. Stevens like many schools requires a year of calculus in high school for engineering and science applicants (I’m not sure if RPI does). You should take Ramapo off your list if you want mechanical engineering, since Ramapo has no engineering school.

What is your safety?

NJIT, Rutgers, or Manhattan would be candidates for safeties. Of course the first two would be the least expensive options for New Jersey residents.
