I know my ECs are not very strong because I moved to CA my freshman year.

I'm applying to UCSD, UCLA, Berkeley, USC, Emory, NYU, Northwestern (or UChicago), Columbia, and Pomona. I think I have a pretty good chance at UCSD, but I'm not sure about others. If I raise my SAT to 2200+, will it significantly increase my chances to top-notch schools like Columbia and Pomona?

Korean w/ Listening SATII = bad for top tier privates. They would think you’re slacking (or so I’ve been told)

^That’s quite unfair… IMO. And I’m not biased, either, as a Korean male who would probably score higher on the Spanish SAT than the Korean SAT. I mean, 800 shouldn’t be credited as highly as an 800 in a humanities or science of course, but it should still be BENEFICIAL in the very least…

Anyways, you look like a lock for UCSD. UCLA and Berkeley are high matches (maybe 30-40%) as you are in-state. USC/NYU are low reaches, and you don’t have much chance at the others (esp. Columbia + Ponoma, no offense)

What SAT score would I need in order to give me a pretty good chance at Cal/UCLA/NYU/USC?

2100+ would be sufficient for all you listed, except for Cal. (A 2200+ would probably be good enough for that.)

Then again, those are just guesses.
