Please chance me! UMD College Park, Syracuse, Penn State, UDel

Hi!
I'm a caucasian female and a senior at a very prestigious public high school in NJ. I moved from NY to NJ before my freshman year and had really bad grades freshman and sophomore year because I was adjusting. I have very low stats, but I think that my essays, recommendations, and EC's make up for it. Please chance me for UMD, PSU, Syracuse, and UDel!!

Freshman GPA UW: 2.7
Sophomore GPA UW: 3.1
Junior GPA UW: 3.8

Only took one honors course for senior year but got all A's and 1 B+ (in Physics) for the first quarter.
Accumulative GPA UW: 3.2

SAT: 1690

RECOMMENDATIONS: I am very close with my guidance counselor and both of the teachers who wrote my letters.

EC: Lots of volunteer work and very busy schedule (volunteer at a horse stable for people with special needs, took a service trip to Costa Rica for 3 weeks, worked with Habitat for Humanity, member of Key Club, Babysitter, and part-time worker at a shoe store)

ESSAY: Wrote my essay on my experiences and responsibilities at a horse stable that provides therapy for children with special needs. Also factored in overcoming adversity by writing about how I overcame the struggles that accompanied moving.

Thank you so much!!!!!!

all reaches except UDel

@SammyV6‌ do you think that my chances are really low for the other schools?

yes but I’m not an admissions counselor or an expert on the schools, I’m just a fellow applicant. Don’t get too discouraged by what you read on here, most colleges give your application a holistic review. Best of luck!

Thanks you too!

What major ? …

How can you chance someone without knowing the major…

@meriks sorry! this is all really new to me. I’m applying to arts and sciences

@collegegal2424 no worries, i was just saying that as general statement, most people put threads without the major.

I think it would be nice if you could get a higher score on your SAT. If you get that score up, Penn state is very doable.
