Hello… I’m a senior in high school, and I am so incredibly stressed right now. Vanderbilt, Cornell, and Emory are my reach schools, and I plan on doing early decision for one of them, not sure which yet. I’m scared that because I don’t have many accomplishments I won’t be able to get into these schools. Here’s what I have so far:
SAT: -
ACT: 31 (I’m retaking it very soon but I’m scared it won’t go up)
GPA: above 4.0, I’m not sure as to what it is exactly right now but I think it’s a 4.2/4.3
AP courses: AP Lang(got a 5 on the test), AP Lit, AP Calc, AP Gov. I took honors classes my freshman and sophomore years. I have other weighted classes right now as well.
-National Honors Society
-Marching band, symphonic band, and jazz band, I play two instruments fairly well and I’m learning a third.
-Key club for 4 years
-Academic challenge varsity (yeah I’m from Ohio, it’s like an academic quiz competition across state)
-I also do a lot of scattered volunteer work.
-My art has gotten a superior rating and was exhibited in a state art competition.
idk if these help at all, but it’s all I got.
I believe I can write a good essay, and I think my recommends do include high opinions, so what are my chances? I want to go into law and my undergrad major is probably going to be English/arts related. I plan on doing ED for either Cornell or Vandy, do I stand a chance at all? Is my ACT too low to even be considered? (I honestly think this is my limit, I’m horrible at test-taking). pls answer me, people knowledgeable in these three schools!
