Please Chance Me - will chance back when I gain experience

I am a junior in a very selective Maryland public high school with IB program. I am starting to think about colleges and learned about College Confidential. I wanted to take opportunity of “Chance me” feature to understand where I stand. Please help.

I have taken as challenging a course load as possible (mostly AP/IB/Honors courses).

My academic stats are as follows:
Raw GPA: 3.4
Weighted GPA: 4.1
SAT: 2270
PSAT: 225
SAT subject tests - MATH II: 800, Math I: 760
ACT: 33 (projected)
AP: Government and Politics -3, APUSH -4, Stat – 5, BC Calc & Phy C – Planned this year

Special Interest/Awards/Extra Curricular:
• Have been 1st place winner in state level science fairs
• Have more than 200 hours volunteering at a local adult care facility
• Have paid summer internship at a reputed biological research lab – 2014 & 2015
• Have been practicing Martial art since kindergarten
• Have been a keyboard player for several years

I am interested to pursue major in biological sciences/pre-medicine/health sciences related studies in college. Please chance me for the following school:

  1. Penn State Eberly College of Science
  2. Johns Hopkins University
  3. University of Maryland
  4. Duke University
  5. Boston University
  6. Emory University
  7. UNC, Chapel Hill
  8. UPenn
  9. Northeastern University
  10. Columbia University
  11. University of Notre Dame
  12. Cornell University
  13. UVA
  14. George Washington University
  15. University of Florida

Appreciate your help.

You UWGPA will hurt your chances, especially at the most selective schools.

I understand my GPA is not what it should be for the most selective schools. However, would you please rate my chances for the above schools? Want to understand if I should even time investigating these schools and applying or refocus.

  1. Penn State Eberly College of Science Low match
    1. Johns Hopkins University High reach
    2. University of Maryland Low match
    3. Duke University high reach
    4. Boston University Match
    5. Emory University Low reach
    6. UNC, Chapel Hill Low reach if OOS, Match if in state
    7. UPenn High reach
    8. Northeastern University Low reach
    9. Columbia University high reach
    10. University of Notre Dame Reach
    11. Cornell University reach
    12. UVA like UNC CH
    13. George Washington University Low match
    14. University of Florida Low match

Thank you for taking time to respond. Definitely gives me idea about where I stand now.

Trying to understand so that I can do the translation myself for other schools. Can you please give me some idea about how do I take my GPA, test scores etc and calculate which one is Match and which one is low match etc?

You are helping a lot in understanding this process. So, thanks again.

@HormnallyAReck: What do you mean by “could go to better” mean?

He means that you have a good chance of being admitted to higher ranked schools.

TomSrOfBoston Correct, that is what I meant.
