<p>I know my GPA is very low. I believe that is because of how much time I have spent on my startup company over the years and that will be the core topic of my essay.</p>

<p>Your GPA is indeed low for most of the schools on the list. The colleges want you to have a balance of academic and EC activities, so that may not be a good excuse for a low GPA. Particularly you don’t have a rigorous course load. Your ACT is below average for UMich but within mid 50, but it may still be a low reach for you due to your GPA.
Stanford and Cornell are high reach.
MSU should be a match considering in state and high acceptance rate.</p>
