<p>Im a white rising senior male at a pretty competitive (top 100-200 schools in the nation) public high school in Michigan, and i'm starting my applications for these following schools: U of M, Miami (Ohio), Vanderbilt, and Michigan State. Chances????? </p>

GPA: 3.94U (school doesnt weight grades)
Rank: 17/360 Top 5%
APs: Calculus BC, U.S. Government, Statistics (senior year), Spanish 5 (senior year).
AP Scores: Calc BC-3, Government-4.
Honors Classes: Honors English (freshman and sophomore year), Honors Algebra 2/ FST, Honors FST/ PDM
ACT: 30<br>
ECs:
Freshman Year: Travel/Club Hockey (20-25 hours a week), JV baseball
Sophomore year: JV Hockey, JV Baseball
Junior Year: JV Cross-Country, National Honor Society, and Youth-in-Government.
Senior Year (tentative): Varsity Cross-Country, NHS-Leadership Position, Youth-in-Government.
I dont know what I would like to major in quite yet. I am thinking along the lines of Political Science or Business.</p>
<p>Your GPA is great, but it doesn’t look like you took very challenging classes. If this is due to the fact that your school doesn’t offer many then I think you are a match for all of those schools. If your school did offer more difficult classes then I think Vanderbilt and Miami are reaches while MSU is still a match.</p>
<p>You didnt take the most challenging classes, but got a solid GPA. Work on the ACT score if you can and try for 32 as said before. You should probably get in to MSU and in regards to U of M, a higher ACT would greatly help, but you still got a shot now.</p>
<p>my school does offer a few more AP classes. but they are all science related, like AP Physics, and AP Chemistry. other than those types of classes, which i have no real interest in, and AP studio art, i have pretty much exhausted my AP options. and there are no honors classes other than those i have taken.</p>
