<p>Hey guys. This is actually my first post. I'm currently in the process of applying to colleges and was wondering if you could give me some input as to my chances. My major would be pre-med.</p>

<p>SAT: 2010 (1390 for M+CR)...but I just took it again so hopefully a higher score

Research intern: I worked with a research professor at NYU, who mentored me in my own neuroscience-based project (which I will enter into various science competitions this year).</p>

<p>If possible, could you also please suggest any safety schools that are strong in their premed departments. That would be great. Thanks!</p>

<p>*pre-med is a focus (just a group of pre-req classes needed for medical school), not a major. you’ll still have to pick a major. medical schools tend to like students who choose something other than biology, so i’d look into majoring in something that really interests you with the pre-med focus.</p>

<p>I think you have a really good chance at NYU. Your SAT scores are a little low for USC but I’d still say it’s a match, hopefully the retake scores will give you an ever better shot. :)</p>
