Please chance me :)

I live in the NE region and would very much prefer attending the schools here. I'm currently a 10th grader, so I'm applying as an entering 11th grader... will that hurt my chances of getting admitted? Also, if I decide to wait until senior year, which other schools should I apply to?

So far, here are the schools on my list: Lawrenceville, Peddie, PA, PEA, Milton, Hotchkiss

Please be honest!

Very strong stats all around. Im not going to ask you to chance me and I’m going to give u a formal yes or no but i will ask you for some info and give some constructive criticism.

Questions:

Are you applying for financial aid?

I don’t need to know where u live, but tell me if you are international, if you are young for your age, things like that. (your background does make a difference)

Let’s hear about your interview, essays, and recommendations.

Criticisms/things to know

Your stats are honestly perfect. Unless you told your interviewer that he is a piece of crap, you are looking great.

Your application is similar to mine, except you have this incredible musical background.

you r a beast. straight up.

not going to give u a formal yes or no*

bump…

@limuluspoly, your stats are honestly AMAZING! 11th grade acceptances are pretty low, but most BS’s don’t take students for Senior year, and junior year is basically the last point. Lawrenceville accepts around 10-20 people for 11th grade, and similar numbers for the rest of the schools. I honestly don’t think you should wait until senior year (although it is pretty late at the moment to apply for this Sept.), but I know Exeter has a late application round, but getting FA at this point is quite difficult. Milton doesn’t accept anybody for senior year, so your best bet is basically NOW.

Your stats, once again, ARE AMAZING! I hope you get in to your first choice, and if you haven’t started the process now, you better do soon :slight_smile: Have you applied yet btw? Or are you considering it at the moment?

@samra1234

 1. yes
 2. not international; i’m the right age for my grade; asian
 3. interviews were great; essay were ok (i’m not the strongest writer); recommendations were all good. my teachers and i are really close so they know a lot of things to write about me (i hope only the good things, lol).

thanks and good luck to you!

@PreppyDude123 <– nice name :slight_smile:
thank you!
i figured applying late would be a challenge… we’ll see…
i’d really love to stay close to where i live (long island) so lawrenceville is my top choice. hope i get admitted!
what about you? have you applied anywhere?

@Limuluspoly, afraid not yet. I’m applying in September this year. By the time I realized about BS, it was too late to take a shot this year - so ATM, just looking at BS’s and seeing where I can apply next year! :smiley: L’ville is one of my first choices too!

I would say you have a good chance but no more than that. It depends on who you’re competing with. Since there will be limited opening for 11th grade, it won’t be that easy to get in. Good Luck! My D also is applying for 10th and she is 1/650 with 4.6 GPA and 98th % SSAT. She is extremly good at writing and loved by all teachers. She did great job in her interview but I have no clue how much chance she has for Andover and Exeter. All is done and good luck to everybody. It won’t be the end of the world. Anybody who couldn’t get in may have better chance to get in HYP at the end with good GPA and class rank. Good luck and wait to see.

Sorry, this may seem like a dumb question, but how do you take Geometry and AP Statistics? Doesn’t Statistics come after Algebra 2? I’m really sorry, but I just didn’t understand.

Oh by the way, you have an AMAZING chance. I mean like WOW. Good luck to all of you (I’ll be thinking of all you poor souls as try to chase down the school bus).
