Please chance me!!

Hi, Columbia is my dream school. I just want to know my chances!
Ethnicity: Indian
School Type: Public, VERY competitive, #1 in the state
Weighted GPA: 3.86. I know this is low, but I was going through personal issues my freshmen and sophomore year and did around a 3.6 weighted and then during my junior year I sorted things out and pulled off a 4.33 weighted.
Highest SAT: 630 Math 700 Reading 750 Writing 11/12 on essay
Highest ACT: 34 English 33 Reading 28 Math 28 Science 10/12 essay
SATII: Literature 720 Biology 740
AP Scores: 5 AP Biology 5 AP English Language 5 World History

Junior Courses: AP Biology, AP World History, AP English Language, French, Science Research, Orchestra, Precalc
Senior Courses: AP English Literature, AP Economics, AP Calc AB, Physics Honors (in my school you have to take physics b/a/honors before doing AP), Science Research, Orchestra, French, African Studies

ECs: science research past two summers in research labs, last summer at Columbia, this summer at Yale (got into both through application), chamber orchestra 12th grade, Model UN (9th-12th) president, Heart and Soul charity club (10-12) President, volunteer work at local elderly care home, intern at local organic farm this summer, violin lessons and recitals, JV tennis team 10th grade, track 11th grade.

Honors/Accomplishments: co-authorship on science research article submitted to be published in New England Journal of Medicine (VERY rare for high school student), AP Scholar Award, Science Fair 3rd Honors, poster presentation at Science and Humanities Symposium (only 17 people selected out of 70, I was one of them), participation at Science and Engineering Fair 10th-11th grade, French Award of Excellence 11th grade.

No matter how much I study, I just cannot do well on any math standardized tests. In school, I get As in math; I just don't know how it happens. My essays are REALLY good and I recs will be good as well (hopefully). I'm also getting a recommendation from the researcher I worked with the summer I was at Columbia. I hate that my 9th and 10th grades bring me down so much.

At Columbia, I want to major in Biology (I plan to go pre-med) and do an archeology concentration. I've gone on a campus tour, info session, and also I'm going to an upcoming science research symposium at Columbia.

Thank you guys so much!

I think if its your first choice you have to apply early decision. You have to get your test scores up though. Ur sat 2s r good but ur act or sat really need to be a 2200 or more to give you a good shot, assuming ur unhooked… Ur extra curric r really impressive and that will stand out.if u bring ur scores up and apply ed I think u have a good shot! Now message me you have to give me feeback on my essay since I chanced u!!! Haha

If you ED and have a KILLER essay, maybe!

Your scores hurt you but I think your ECs especially that Journal article will help you a lot. I would submit the article as a supp b/c that’s just unreal…

Personally, if you apply ED, I think your chances are okay at best. I mean your ECs are awesome and stand out but your GPA and test scores are very low for a Columbia student. Also, since the PSAT cut off for National Merit Semifinalist went up for almost every state this year that means there is probably going to be extremely tough competition in the applicant pools of the Ivy’s. That being said, the only way to get denied for sure is to not apply so best of luck!
