Please chance me!

<p>Hi, I am an oos candidate so I'm really nervous about applying to UNC...I'm applying early action and I know it's super competitive so im super extra nervous right now!</p>

<p>my stats:
33 ACT
1930 SAT (I retook the October one but the scores aren't out yet)
12 on the essay though
SAT IIs
math II - 710
bio - 660
US history - 670
Im retaking sat IIs in november but scores wont make early action</p>

<p>GPA: 3.34 (89) UW / 4.1 W
school doesnt rank, but I'm pretty sure I'm in the top 15%, maybe top 10%</p>

<p>I go to a competitive public high school in Massachusetts (oos)
Asian ethnicity</p>

<p>senior course load:
AP Calculus AB
AP Language and Composition
AP Chemistry
AP Physics
AP Government
2 intro college classes at the local college
an independent study in "leadership"
honors english</p>

<p>9 total AP classes and 4 college classes taken by the time I graduate</p>

<p>Previously taken aps: US history 3, Biology 4, Statistics 4, World History 4, Macroeconomics 4</p>

<p>Extracurriculars: 4 years chorus, President of Model UN, Student Council Leader, Environthon captain, Diversity Club leader, 1 year band, 1 year mock trial (witness), 1 year school play, 2 years international club, 1 year make up crew, more than 250 hours volunteering at a hospital</p>

<p>Honors:
Commended PSAT
AP Scholar with distinction
State level environthon win (not sure if that counts)</p>

<p>I have two good teacher recs and a good rec from my counsler
I could get an excellent rec from someone I worked with at the hospital where I volunteered but I don't know if colleges look at outside recs...</p>

<p>please, please chance me! I'm worried about my low GPA and I really want to know what my chances of getting in are!</p>

<p>Grades are low, which might kill your application. ACT is a 33? That seems much higher than your SAT. I think you have a shot. Definitely apply.</p>

<p>I think everything is good, except for your GPA. Just bring that up and do well first semester and you’ll probably get in. Its VERY competitive, but you’ve got a shot.</p>
