Hello! I would appreciate it, if you could take the time to "chance" me? I'm a 9th grader (already in a private day school) applying for 10th grade. I previously applied to Taft and Choate, however I was rejected by both schools. If you also could answer these questions I would also really appreciate it: Do schools look at national percentile? What weighs the most out of the application? Any advice you could give me?

SSAT scores? Recommendations? Interviews? You didn’t give us anything to work with. Based on what you DID put, it looks like you have a pretty good chance, but the SSATs are a pretty big part of the application that they look at.

KK

Recommendations:
1 English (pretty good)
1 Math (pretty good)
1 from Headmaster (Really good)
1 from Principal (Pretty good)
1 from Dean of Students (Really good)

Interviews:
Loomis Chaffee said I was confident and I seemed prepared
Taft was extremely friendly. They also said I was prepared
Choate said I was confident and a “bright young man.”
Westminster has yet to come.

SSAT’s:
I am taking mine this weekend. Based from my practice tests I scored about a 84th or 85th percentile in verbal. Math was 72nd percentile and Reading was 95th percentile

Also, the Dean of Students went to Choate for high school. He also works at Taft during the summer. I know a lot of people at Taft and I have a friend at Choate.

Okay thank you. Yeah, it seems you have a good chance. Just score above an 85 percentile or above on the SSAT, and I think that you are qualified. Make sure the essays were good.
