<p>I got into UCR with the highlander excellence scholarship (worth $1000), but I'm REALLY hoping to go to UCI instead since it'll be possible for me to commute back and forth. </p>

<li>Rank: within the top 15% of school (Public, 2700+ Students, API: 878)</li>
<li>SAT: 1820 <590 CR, 610 M, 620 W></li>
<li>Senior Year AP Classes: AP Psychology, AP Calculus, AP Literature, AP Macroeconomics, AP American Government & Politics, AP Chemistry</li>
<li>Junior Year AP Classes: AP U.S. History (3), AP Physics B (3), AP Statistics (3), AP Language (3)</li>
<li>Took 10/16 AP and 4/5 Honor classes offered at school</li>

<p>Well,</p>

<p>firstly- your GPA is significantly below the average UC GPA for UCI. I believe it is around 3.95-4.03ish?</p>

<p>However, the fact that you are within 15% rank, and your challenging courseload will definitely help. Is there any upward trend in your grades (e.g. soph-jr) year?</p>

<p>SAT is about average? or maybe a bit below? </p>

<p>Your EC’s is your strength. The leadership is definitely there- and the fact that you tutor kids at least 8 hrs/wk + the other stuff is very strong.</p>

<p>The admissions can go either way, but you have a decent shot if your essays are good.</p>

<p>42% Acceptance
Average of 1666 SAT
Average of 3.82 UC GPA</p>

<p>You have an 1820 and a 3.62. It is very possible that you will be admitted if your essays and EC’s pull you through.</p>

<p>That is if your major is “Psychology and Social Behavior”, if it wasn’t then you have to look at the stats again. Most majors don’t have an average SAT so low, so if you did pick this one, your lucky.</p>

<p>@junshik yes, there was an upward trend in my grades :slight_smile: it went from a 3.17 in sophomore year to a 4.17 in junior year. thank you for chancing me! i hope the admissions will sway in my favor. xD </p>
